Meet Sasha
Hi, I’m Oleksandra.
Most people simply call me Sasha.
From music to photography
I was born in Ukraine, where creativity was always part of my life. Before photography, there was music. I graduated with a Master’s degree in Music Education, but even then, I was always the friend with a camera. I loved photographing the people around me, long walks in nature, and the quiet beauty of everyday life. What started as a simple hobby—encouraged by my sister—slowly became something much bigger.
⸻
Starting over
Life has taken me across three countries.
I moved to Warsaw after meeting my now husband online, and not long after, the full-scale war in Ukraine changed everything. Together we decided to begin again in Canada, arriving with little more than hope and the determination to build a new life.
One year later, I bought my first professional camera.
I took every course I could, photographed anyone who trusted me, and discovered that photography wasn’t just something I enjoyed.
It was where I truly belonged.
Today, I’m incredibly grateful to call it my full-time profession.
⸻
Why I do this
The greatest privilege of my work isn’t creating beautiful photographs.
It’s being invited into someone’s story.
That’s why I never think of the people in front of my camera as clients.
To me, they’re the heroes of their own story.
Whether we’re celebrating a wedding, welcoming a new baby, or simply preserving an ordinary afternoon together, I want you to leave the session feeling closer to the people you love.
Not because of me.
Because you were fully present with each other.
⸻
A little more about me
Outside of photography, life is beautifully simple.
I’m married to my best friend, our silver Labrador Hunter keeps life wonderfully unpredictable, and I treasure family, deep friendships, and long conversations over coffee.
I believe that home isn’t a place—it’s the people we choose to love.
Maybe that’s why connection has always mattered more to me than perfection.
⸻
If we ever meet…
If our paths cross one day, I hope this won’t be the only chapter we share.
Some of my heroes return every year.
Some invite me back to photograph the next chapter of their lives.
Some become friends.
Those relationships are one of the greatest gifts this career has given me, and I never take that trust for granted.
Thank you for being here.
I’d be honored to tell your story.
